After graduating from The University of San Francisco in Psychology, Cynthia studied art history and interior design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and textile design at the Rudolph Schaefer School of Design in San Francisco where her interest grew into fashion design.
She began designing clothes using artistic trims and patchwork and started a small collection selling to boutiques. Her clothes are now sold in hundreds of boutiques and specialty stores and are proudly advertising the "Made in the USA" label.
Xiao is one of the few clothing manufacturers in San Francisco that does its own production. Being a perfectionist, it is important for Cynthia to be able to oversee how things fit and look. Having their own sewing factory gives them the ability to maintain high quality - if something goes wrong, it can be fixed immediately.
Xiao's mission is to unite art with the modern day attitude for personalized comfort and utility. To inspire the person wearing their clothes so she can feel special and out of the ordinary. They believe that clothes should be effortless but elegant at the same time and reflect the person wearing them.
